Leila's First Drawing

I just have to share this because I am a very proud mama.  Leila colored this at Sunday School last week.  It is the first thing of many I am sure that I get to put up on the refrigerator.

Leila's First Snow Day

We woke up this morning to lots of snow and it hasn't stopped all day!  We bundled Leila up and took her out to play in the snow for the first time.   She tried to catch a few flakes but wasn't too eager to want to walk or play in it.  After about 15 minutes and some snow in the face the crying started and it was time to go back in and get warm by the fire.  She sure did look cute in her little snow suit though!

Dr. Today

Dr.'s appointment today! Please pray for the continuing health and safety of this little one. I am always very nervous until they get to the point where I can hear the heartbeat. What a comforting sound that is. I am hoping that I will be able to make my appointment today for the ultrasound, which I should be able to do in about 4 more weeks! We cannot wait to find out if this one is a boy or girl!

Playing outside on a lovely fall/winter day

Leila loves to be outside!  While Daddy was chopping wood she chased the dogs around the yard and went for a ride on her bike.  She likes to pick up rocks and of course they go straight to the mouth.  Once she figures out they don't taste all that great she offers them to me, as if I would want to eat them.  What a little bug she is.  She is getting much better at walking in her new "big girl shoes" and was loving being able to go wherever she wanted.  I think they helped her while riding her bike, and she went all over the driveway, a lot of times into the dirt.  It didn't stop her though, she would just back up and pick a new direction.  As you can see she also loves to play peek-a-boo and anytime you say "where's Leila?" she will cover her eyes and hide.

Leila Update

Our little bean is growing so much these days!  She has been walking for about 6 weeks now and is getting quite good at cruising around the house.  Her favorite new activity is chasing the dogs around the house, of course saying her favorite phrase "Hi Diggy Diggy Diggy!".  She loves to dance to any music she hears and has come up with some pretty cute moves.  She has tons of personality and can be quite a handful, giving us lots of attitude already.  She is definately not shy and loves to say hi to the people who pass by us in the grocery store.  We have been teaching Leila some simple sign language and she has started to pick up a few signs already.  She loves to eat and will try any food once so it's no big surprise that her best sign is "more".  She makes us laugh a lot and brings so much joy into our house.

Welcome to the Byers' Blogspot!

Hello family and friends!  We have set up this site so you can know all about what Leila is up to and keep track of the new growing bump:)  We love you all!
